LEAP now supporting SBS 2011

LEAP Legal Software have today released an updated version of the LEAP Office10 system requirements. LEAP Office10 is the leading legal practice management software for small legal firms.

This new version included support for Small Business Server 2011 (SBS 2011) in both Standatrd and Essential editions as well as support for Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business versions.

Operating systems currently supported to run the LEAP Office10 server include:

  • Windows XP Pro (32 bit only)
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2008 (32/64 bit)
  • Small Business Server 2003
  • Small Business Server 2008 (64 bit only)
  • Small Business Server 2011 (64 bit only)

Servers require a minimum 4GB of RAM however for Small Business Server 2011 Standard running LEAP we would recommend at least 16GB of RAM. The majority of the other system requirements remain unchanged. What is still missing from LEAP is support for hosted exchange environments which we have been told will hopefully be coming shortly. This coupled with SBS 2011 Essentials, a hosted exchange service and Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Business is a very cost and effective way for a small legal firm to get started.

LEAP have also released a number of updated to the Office10 suite which we recommend all clients upgrade to. These updated resolve a large number of bugs in the previous version. The updated versions are:

  • LEAP Accounting v10 - 10.0.296.274 (17/05/2011)
  • LEAP Documents v10 - 10.0.644 (23/05/2011)

Updates and system requirements can be downloaded from the LEAP website or please send an email to support@myrtec.com.au if you would like a Myrtec consultant to be scheduled to complete the install.
