The battle between Apple and Android is heating up, but who is going to win out...
Twitter as a serious business tool

There is no doubt amongst the business community that social media is changing the way we communicate with customers. But how exactly do we use these mediums and what outcomes can we expect?
Catroina Pollard, of CP Communications, is highly regarded within the PR community as an expert in using social media to help drive business growth. I had the pleasure of meeting Catroina last year and her passion and expertise for social media was reflected in the strategies and outcomes she has achieved through mediums such as Twitter and Facebook.
In today’s Dynamic Business blog, Catroina nominated a few simple strategies to help businesses make the most of Twitter – and I thought these were worth sharing with you!
Tip 1. Create a personality for your business
- Hold two-way communication and avoid obvious marketing ploys – your followers will run see straight through you!
- Twitter is all about relationships, so use your photo as a profile picture rather than your company’s logo.
Tip 2. Devise a strategy that aligns with your communications plan
- Make sure there is a purpose and desired objective to your tweeting. Start by posting interesting articles and topics relevant to your industry and start a conversation through using open questions.
- Schedule your tweets (3-6 a day is ideal) and keep your presence consistent.
- Follow your target audience – you want to know what they’re talking about! Chances are, they’ll follow you back.
These strategies are a great starting point for anyone looking to enhance their Twitter presence and increase the effectiveness of their social media strategy.
Happy Tweeting!
